Wisdom tooth extraction

Wisdom teeth are the final set of molars that usually erupt in the late teens or early twenties. Wisdom teeth may be misaligned, causing crowding or damage to adjacent teeth, the jawbone or nerves. An infection known as pericoronitis can result from partially erupted wisdom teeth. Partially erupted teeth are difficult to brush and floss, making your mouth more prone to tooth decay and gum disease.

When wisdom teeth require removal, your dentist will explain what to expect during the healing period and how best to manage any discomfort.

Tooth extraction

At K&J, we aim to preserve your natural teeth whenever possible. In some cases, however, a tooth may need to be removed. If a tooth needs to be extracted, your dentist will discuss alternatives for replacement, such as fixed partial dentures (crowns and bridges), removable partial dentures (dentures) or implants.
